Mr. Jones is beginning his fourteenth year of teaching and his second year as part of the Burnet Band Director Team. Mr. Jones assists with the high school marching and teaches beginning brass and middle school ensemble classes. Prior to Burnet CISD, Mr. Jones taught in DeSoto ISD, Rice ISD, and Life Charter School.
Mr. Jones’ bands have performed at UIL Marching, and Concert and Sight Reading Contest where they have consistently received superior ratings and sweepstakes awards.
Mr. Jones’ main instrument is trombone, though he is able to teach all wind instruments. His significant musical experiences include: earning a position in the Texas All-State Band and performances with the Lake Charles Symphony Orchestra and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.
Mr. Jones earned his Bachelor of Music from McNeese State University and his Master of Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his spare time, Mr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters (both of whom are members of the Esprit de Corps). He also enjoys waterskiing and wakeboarding as well as cycling.
